All faiths are welcome
The heart of Jesuit education is the mission of St. Ignatius of Loyola: Developing the intellect along with spiritual growth and a commitment to social justice.
Unique retreats & service
Another aspect that sets Canisius apart from other schools is the spiritual and personal formation offered to all students through the campus ministry department's retreats, service opportunities and liturgies.

A program that Canisius pioneered in Western New York, the CHS House System helps students build even stronger bonds and connections with each other and the faculty.
Each house includes students from all four grades who remain housemates throughout their time at CHS.
Once each quarter, the House Games bring on fun and friendly competition in everything from tug-of-war to chess to football.
Based on house systems used around the world for centuries, ours is guided by the Jesuit hallmark of cura personalis – care for the whole person.
Students can earn points for their house through academic achievemen; participation in service, clubs and athletics; and the House Games.
Each house bears the name of a prominent Jesuit and has its own distinctive color and shield.
A Canisius education builds freshmen into young men of character and puts
graduates into position to achieve excellence in their personal and professional lives.
